Hi! I think I've been following you for a little bit but I guess haven't looked at it for a while? I'm moving to portland next week and I was wondering if you have any tips about getting settled in there?? Your food looks amazing, btw.

I hope you have a place to live, because its really difficult to find exactly what you want! Make sure you have a bike, serious raincoat, and weatherproof boots. It rains a lot. It never really downpours, but it rains all the time. People here say it calms down in the summer, and the winter is really the rainy season so keep that in mind. There’s a lot of great food carts! I’d like to think mine is at the top of people’s lists in the city. You’ll have to stop by and get a bite to eat once you’re settled! I wish I had more advice but I work so often, it’s hard to say where you should go to eat/drink/see things. I haven’t been 10 miles outside of Portland since I was in Philly in September.

I remember tumblr 6 years ago when there were 25-30 people who would religiously like, re-blog and comment on all my posts, and I would return the favor, not to humor them, but because It was a lot of fun. They were interesting, attractive, extremely intelligent people. This site was a private little place where you could be open and honest to new people (and be the opposite of private), and people gave a fuck about you. It was a test for me. Put your life out there and see who cares. People cared about your new job, recipe, apartment, and new girlfriend. We were a little crew who shared tumblr friends. A few of the became even closer friends who shared more intimate details about their lives, invited you to be friends with them on Facebook, and a few of them I’ve even met in person and started pretty awesome friendships with.

Nowadays, I get 1 like for a gpoy and my feed is riddled with porn.

My hair is still super short but I think I like it.

Every night when we close this little cart down, and every day when we open it up, and all the times in between, we read the postcards you have all sent us off with from Philly. We really miss our friends and family back home in Philly and NJ. The postcards show scenes of our hometown to our customers, but the backsides are pleasant reminders of all the people who not only supported us monetarily, but with their friendship and well wishes. You have kept us going through a very tough but BUSY (successful) first six weeks. We love you all. Thanks for everything you have done for us, I hope we are making you proud.
